Coach John Paul
John Paul brings experience from multiple levels of high-level football, having played collegiately at Dartmouth College, the University of Louisville, and Liberty University. He began his college career at Dartmouth, where he helped lead the Ivy League in rushing during back-to-back seasons and was part of two Ivy League championship teams. He later transferred to Louisville, earning playing time in 22 games across the 2022 and 2023 seasons, including multiple starts, and was named to the Academic All-ACC Team. He finished his career at Liberty University, contributing to a 10–4 season and an ACC Championship appearance. A graduate of All Saints’ Episcopal School in Fort Worth, Texas, John Paul was a three-sport athlete, earning TAPPS all-state honors in football, basketball, and track and field. He was named TAPPS all-state first team and academic all-state first team in football, a TAPPS Class 5A basketball all-state selection, and an all-state performer in shot put and discus. Through Trench U, John Paul applies the same standards that carried him through Ivy League, Power Five, and Division I football — emphasizing technique, leverage, hand placement, footwork, football IQ, and accountability. His mission is to develop disciplined, technically sound linemen while preparing athletes mentally and professionally for the next level.
Coach Michael Flores
Trench U coaching staff. A veteran offensive lineman who competed at Dartmouth College, Old Dominion University, and the University of Louisville, Michael knows what it takes to succeed at the highest levels—both on the field and in life. During his college career, Michael started all 12 games at center for Old Dominion, helping lead the Sun Belt Conference in rushing yards per game (209.75) and rushing touchdowns. He earned CSC All-District honors at Dartmouth and capped his career by helping Louisville defeat #2 Miami and win the Boca Raton Bowl of Beans against Toledo. Michael's football journey mirrors his approach to family coaching: steady growth, adaptability, and doing the hard work in the trenches. Coming from a family of five where all four siblings earned Ivy League degrees and three brothers played offensive line in college, Michael understands firsthand how family culture shapes success. His brother Jacob played at Dartmouth and spent time with the Green Bay Packers, while his brothers John Paul (Dartmouth/UVA/Louisville/Liberty/Dallas Cowboys) and Charlie (Columbia/SMU) also excelled on the O-line. At Trench U, Michael helps families build the same foundation that creates winning teams: clear communication, defined roles, accountability, and a relentless commitment to growth. He graduated from Dartmouth with a Bachelor of Arts degree and majored in Sport Management.
